The hearing of the civil action S. S. Woodcock v. J. F. Ludwig, claiming £2OO in respect to damage to house caused by a landslip in August, concluded after three days' trial. The plaintiff contended that fhe slip was due to the defendant directing storm water from his section over the cliff, whereas the defence submitted that the fall was due to an earthquake last year causing a crack in the top of the hill, and to unprecedented rainfall..
