THE GREENFIELD SETTLEMENT
[Fbom Oub, TrcantKA Cdbbbsfoitoent.] The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association are taking steps to establish yards at Waitahnna for the sale of stock. Since Greenfield Estate has been thrown open for close settlement, the status of Waitahnna as a township has very materially improved. A good number of the new settlers draw their supplies from Waitahnna, while the major portion of tin timber and fencing materials, agricultural implements, etc., required for the settlement are landed at the railway station there. No doubt, as the Eettlement advances, the settlers will find the yards whichareabout to be erected very handy as a medium for the disposal of their surplus stock. Good progress is being made with the erection of permanent buildings, fences,, etc, on the settlement, a large area, of which hia been brought under cultivation for oats
