The following annual report of the above will be submitted at the meeting on Thursday next:— Your Committee, in presenting their annual report, are able to congratulate the club on their increasing popularity and prosperity. The reports of the Racing and Slip Committees are appended, and fn' v show the progress of the club. The entries for the various races have been good, ai j the racing as a whole has been keen. but the number of protests point to the conclusion that a closer study of the sailing regulations would be to the advantage of the skippers and crews. The year just cloiad marks a big stride forward, in that Sie long-cherished desire for a clubhouse has been fulfilled. Those who have had exp—ence of the difficnlties attending the slipping of their craft in the past can best appr*cMte the facilities the club can cow place at ire disposal of their members. In this respect we can claim to be ahead of any similar club in New Zealand. The opening of 'He clubhouse was celebrated by an » f tern.sn>'s entertainment, which, thanks to the fine weather conditions, good racing, and the various yachts and motor lanncaes enabling the Committee to give all Hie visitors a trip on the bay, was a great iin cess. The annual social was held in 'June, all arrangements being made by a sub-commit-tee of the younger members of the club, under the supervision of the vioe-commo. dore, to whom the club’s thanks are due for their very successful efforts. The commodore desires to draw the members’ attention < to fbe laxity displayed in wearing the club’s flags, and asks for their more general use in future, aa a- meaoa of abwing that members take some pride in belonging to the O.Y.C. The number of members on the roll is now 144. Mr W. Sinclair, who ably filled the office of hen. secretary, having to leave - Dunedin, resigned, his position, and the thanks of the club are due to Messrs Oliphant and Jamieson, who undertook* the wont pending an appointment in his steed. Although the expenditure for the year has been unusually heavy owing to the erection of clubhouse .and the improvements mode cm the club’s ate, the club are still in a good position financially. -Copies of the balance-sheet will be ready for distribution at the annual meeting The best tKnnlm of the dub are due to Messrs H.
