OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.
At .'list night's meeting of the Ocean ] Beach Domain Board, which was. attended by Mes-rs .T. IT. Hancock, G. Hedges, F. Anderson, and (1. Lawrence (Messrs Brait'iwaito and Crust, apologising for their ar> sence), Mr J H. Hancock was re-electel ckairfrian for the third year in succession, Mr J. Braithwaite was* elected treasurer, and Messrs Hancock, Anderson, and Hodgea appointed as a works committee. The bank book showed a credit balance of £259.19s 7d, the Chairman remarking that the Board was one of tho few public bodies hero without an overdraft and with I a. substantial cash balinoe in hand. -The Board authorised tho payment of £lO {s=£• i retary's salary), and the customary vote of £3 3s to Mr J. Low, of tho town clerk';) staff, and confirmed the payments made of ■wages. . " Tho correspondence dealt with includsd notifications concerning the recent ejections to the Board and letters concerning the St Clair Baths. The Chairman mentioned, in reply io Mr Lawrence, that a tender had teen accepted for the construction of another groin on the foTCshore, and the contractor was getting timber for the job. After referring to the formation of & temporary quicksand near the Ocean Beach Lagoon, Mr Hancock remarked that everything had been going on smoothly in connection with the Board's affairs, and the principal business for tie ennimg month would be the preparation of an 'annual report and statement of accounts in accordance with the obligations imposed by the Land and Survey Department
