BOWLING.

Our Wellington correspondent wires that the Newtown Bowling Club rink, skipped by Prince, wliich carried off the championship at the recent 'tournament at Christchurch, has been challenged by the Gisborne Club’s rink, which won the North Island championship at Gisborne, to play for the championship of the colony on a neutral green, say Napier or Hastings. The matter was mentioned at a smoke concert given in honor of the Newtown Club’s win last night. Prince said ho would have to consult his team, but plainly intimated that ho had had enough of tournaments for a time. Local bowlers are anxious that the match should be played at Wellington.
