HOKJ.TIKA, January 9. _ At the Magistrate's Court to-day a publican was charged "with selling liquor during prohibited hours on Sunday. Evidence led showed that a lodger of the hotel paid for the drinks consumed, and it was argued that this course was permissible under the- Act, the amendment not affecting the rights of a lodger to entertain his friends. The Bench ■upheld the . contention and dismissed the charge. The men supplied with liquor were previously charged, and, being undefended, were fined.
