NORDRACH SANATORIUM
The choir of the Moemiti Bible Circle paid a visit to the Nordrach Sanatorium yesterday, and their excellent singing was appreciated by all. Opportunity was taken of the visit to present Miss Ewing, who was for many years matron of the institution, with a set of silver-mounted brushes and mirror. Mr D. Macpherson, on behalf of the old patients (who are within reach) and those at present in the institution, referred to the respect and esteem in which Miss Ewing was held by all with whom she came m contact, and alluded to her kindly disposition, untiring efforts, and the appreciation of her noble work by those to whom it was administered. Mr E. H. Reid, in a happy speech, returned thanks on Miss Ewing’s behalf. Dr Stephenson, on behalf of Mrs Stephenson and himself, also presented Miss Ewing with n gold chain and medallion, and made mention of her long and faithful services. Dr Stephenson remarked that the old patients of the sanatorium were now widely scattered, and read extracts from recent letters testifying to the excellent health many were in. As the visitors were about to depart Dr Stephenson cordially thanked all who had assisted towards the harmony of so pleasant a gathering.
