It is hoped to despatch her from hero on Wednesday morning for Timaru, which will bo her port of iinal departure from New Zealand. THE NAVUA. We were this afternoon shown tho model of the Union Company’s new Fiji steamer Nimia, the model havutj: recently conns to Iwud and I seen piuoed m position in the ciunpatiy's office. As regards the model itself, it is probably safe to say that it is about the liandnomest among the company's largo collection, and it shows the points ol the st, lamer to advantage. One of tho great features of tho vessel is the meant of ventilation—ventilators color her decks almost everywhere, and there are fairs also. The saloon accommodation ia almost all above the mam dock, and the state rooms are abaft and above t olidining saloon. A spacious promenade dock is situated amidships, ana the boat deck on which tire enptain's state room and the officers’ quarters are situated rises above that again. Then comes the bridge and bridge gear. ’Jim steerage accommodation is aft, and ia also partly on deck, another fine promenade deck being also a feature in this j>art. of (he ship. Awnings can bo fitted to all dicks- For the working of cargo there, a,re five hatches. Double winches arc fitted to three of them, and there, are olan two powerful derricks forward by means of which additional lifting power can he sup. plied to either No. 2or No. 3 liold. Ride doors in the hull also open into tho holds, thus greatly facilitating the work of taking in fruit or other oargo from the boats at the islands. Altogether, we should sir that the vessel looks almost voo good for the work which she will shortly undertake.
