[Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 23. The Hawke’s Bay divorce caso of Gray v. Gray was again before the Court this morning, when the question of alimony was settled. TTje respondent was ordered to vest in his wife £4O per annum, being his share of the marriage settlement, which with tho wife’s share makes an allowance of £BO a year. The mother was given the custody of tlie child. In the Divorce Court to-day- a decree nisi was granted in the caso 'of Orgarita Vitetta v. Joseph Vitetta, on the ground of misconduct. Respondent himself gave evidence in support of the petition, but denied that there was collusion in order to secure a divorce, STRATFORD, September 23. At a meeting of delegates from the various sporty clubs in Taranaki district, held hepe last night, it was resolved to form a Taranaki Athletic Association. The rules and constitution were agreed to. It) was decided to hold cycling events under tho League of Wheelmen’s rules, and it was also resolved to enter into a reciprocal agreement with the West Coast and Southland Athletic _ Associations. Thomas Grogan, an old offender just liberated from gaol, was sentenced at the Magistrate's Court this morning to six mouths’ hard labor for assaulting a Chinaman and using obscene language. At the Supreme Court, in the case of Dr M‘Brearty v. M'Brearty, the husband’s petition for divorce on tlie ground of desertion, a rule nisi was granted, to be made absolute in three months. In Sycnsou v. Svenson a husband's petition), on the major statutory ground, His- Honor reserved his decision. Both these cases were undefended.
