able. work to be carried on more largely among the poor. The annual concert resulted in a net profit of £52 11s. Till the last day of her life she maintained unabated interest in the work dona by the sodety. Mr Haydon, though less prominent in connection with our work, was always generous in giving us his services whenever he could be of ueo, apd money gifts when any special case of distress was brought under his notice. The following ladies have been elected office-bearers for the year 1904-05 President, Mrs Jackson (re-elected); vice-presi-dent, Mrs J. B. Callan (re-elected); treasurer, Misa Colmnb; secretary, Miss Burton (re-elected); wardrobe-keeper, Mrs Swanson (re-elected).

Forty-six sewing meetings have been held, , 524 visits to the poor. Eight children have been sent to St. Mary’s (Nelson), seven to St. Vincent do Paul’s Orphanage (South "Dunedin). A woman and child were sent

to their home in Christchurch, apd a young girl sent to her people down South. * 'The .society have had two adults baptised and live children. Grocery orders have been given to re verity-eight 'persons, coal orders to seventy, which is in addition to the track of coal given to tho society by the Kai* fan cat a Coal Company, There are 230 honorary members and 13 activv members on the sell.

The balance-sheet shows that the year was commenced with " bank balance of £24 3s 4d, and with £25 on fixed deposit, awl closed with £25 5s lOd in the current account and £25 on fixed deposit. The sum expended during the year was over £167.
