CASUALTIES.
A narrow escape from serious accident occurred at Aramoho Junction. Wanganui, lest night. Just as the south train was stopping an elderly lady tried to alight, but she slipped and, fell between the carriage and the platform. A passenger managed to hold her up till the train stopped.' The * Wakatipu Mail ’ stale’ that Isabella Gray, eleven years of age, while returning from a friend’s house at Tucker Flat. Queenstown, on tbe 18th inst., fell ana bruised her knee. Bhe went to school as usual next day, but on Saturday tbe dock* bad to bo called in. He discovered that acute blood-poisoning had set in, and had the child removed to tbe hospital on Sunday, but ehrly next mottling the little girl died.
