MILTON FARMERS’ CLUB.
The following report of the Tokainairivo Farmers’ Club will, be presented at the annual meeting:—“ Your Committee have again pleasure in congratulating members on the sound financial position of the club, there being a balance to credit of £53 lot? 2d, with which to commence the next year. There are, however, a few outstanding liabilities, amounting to about £4. The interest of members has been fairly ay ell maintained, but there are quite a number of farmers in the district who are not members. Eleven meetings of Committee have been held, and the attendance has been good. A social reunion was held in the Coronation Hall, and was vary successful. At the annual walking show six horses, including the Government stud stallion, were shown. Fine weather favored the annual itedk show, and the attendance of the public was very,large, the takings at tho gate constituting a record for the club. The entries, on tiie whole, showed a slight decrease on the previous year, the principal Jailing off being in draught horses. The quality of the exhibits, however, was very good. -At the eighth annual winter show the attendance was good, and the competi. lion in almost all the classes keep. A record number of entries was received for the held turnip competition, and the judge (Mr Blackie), in his report, stated that all tho fields showed signs of careful attention, and in no case was any a discreditable one. The Committee record their thanks to all who have supported .the clpb during tho past year by gifts and special prises, the gentlemen who acted as judges, thV auditors, the class stewards, the Press, and all who assisted in carrying out the work of the club. •• According to the rules one-third nf the Committee retire annually, and the following are the names of those who bo off this year;— Messrs W. Drinnan, W Farquhatfon, W. Moore, M. Hehdmon! M. Finch, T. Cannon, R. Clarke, W. Grey and John Boyle, jun. We have to lament the Jots by death of Mr R. Craig, of Waita, buna, » member of the club wbo bad always taken a very lively interest in ita affairs. He bad, as a judge hb shows and in other ..opacities, lent Valuable assistance on many occasions.” J
