LAWN TENNIS TOURNEY.

On Saturday, in glorious weather, the Otago lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament, the completion of which has been much delayed through the inclement weather experienced since its commencement on Good Friday, was brought to a close. Salmond, having defeated White, then met S. X. Brown in the final, whom he beat by nine games to six. The winner's placing was splendid, and he was very quick to take advantage of any open space. The game was a fast oue right through. In the game between S. N. Brown and Gruar and E. Salmond and J. Sinclair for the final of the Men's Handicap Doubles Brown was very much out of form, and it was only Salmond and Sinclair's handicap that prevented them winning. They did very well as it was in making the game terminate 9—B. Salmond and C. G. White played faultlessly in their meeting with S. X. and R. S. Brown in the final of the Meu's Championship Doubles. Miss Marks and Miss Campbell met in the final of tho Ladies' Championship Singles. The two ladies kept even up to 4 all, when Miss Campbell began to draw ahead, and ultimately won with five games to spare. Miss Marks was placing well, but her back hand play was rather weak. It was to be hoped they

would keep up their practice*, and -win laurels for Otago. Miss Campbe.ll had already taken from the Association one cup, and this was the fourth year in succession she had won the championship of Otago. lii presenting the cups to Mis* Campbell and Mr White, the president remarked that it was the second time Mr White had won the ciip.
