Books and newspapers, 9.40 ajn. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. THURSDAY, 7th APRIL. For Northern Ports.—Per Warrimoo, at 3-20 p.m. Late letters Port train, 2.30 pjn. FRIDAY, Bth APRTL. For Australian States, per North express (to connect with the Warrimoo), at 10 aja. Late letters North express, 11 a.m. Money orders close at 4 p.m. on the 7th, registered letters at 9J.0 ajn. on the Bth. PARCELS AND PACKETS. ■ The large posting box at the Chief Post Office is for packets only. Parcels to be sent by the parcel post system must be landed over the counter; otherwise they are taxed 6d. Mails for the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, per Waiwera, via Monte Video and Teneriffe, will close at Wellington on the 9th, at 10 aja. Correspondence to be specially addressed. Due in London on May 26. Mails close at Auckland for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, on April 6, at 4 p.m., per Manapouri.

The Hmemoa w2l leave the Bluff for Cromarty, Pnysegur Point, Te Oneroa, West Coast Sounds and Bays about the 6th April.

Mails for Norfolk, New Hebrides, and Solomon Islands, per Southern Cross, close at Auckland on the 9th April, at 11 ajn.
