OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.

Mr Henry Crust has been unanimously re-elected to represent the City Council on the Ocean Beach Domain Board, The meeting of the Caversham, South Dunedin, and St. Kilda Borough Councils, held in the South Dunedin Council Chambers last evening for the purpose of electing a representative of the three boroughs on the Ocean Beach Domain Board in succession to Mr D. Stirling, who retired by rotation, was attended by twenty members. Mr J. Wilson (Mayor of Caversham) occupied the chair. Messrs Gabriel Hodges (St. Kilda Council), Carpenter (Caversham Council), and D. Stirling were nominated, and on a vote being taken Mr Hodges was declared elected. A meeting held last evening at the Town Hall for the purpose of electing a representative on the Ocean Beach Domain Board for the Boroughs of Mornington, Roslyn, Maori Hill, and North-east Valley, was attended by Mr J. Annand (Mayor of Mornington, presiding), Mr J. Evans (mayor) and Crs Brittenden and Green (representing North-east \ uney), and Mr P. Anderson (the retiring member of the Domain Board, who offered himself for re-election). Mr F. Anderson having been unanimously reelected, ho mentioned that the Board had now more money to spend than formerly —having about £2oo—and he hoped that the Government would be successfully approached for a grant in respect to a second groin needed at St. Clair. He also referred to the fact that the Tahuna Park Company were at present making revenue hvearting away sand from the park and selling it—a state of things, he was certain, the Government had never anticipated or wonld sanction. The company might argue that it was carting from their own ground, but the Board’s portion of the Sandhills was thereby to some extent undermined, and the sand drifted in to fill the gap, so this practice was to the Board’s disadvantage.
