LAND BOARD.
The’ following was the principal transacted at yesterday’s meeting;—' .The Clutha County-clerk forwarded;memo, ia regard to the - complaint made by S; Bailey as to the ipaimer in which the “ thirds ” were being expended on tbe Purakaiiiti Stream road; ■ -also notified that the Council agreed to transfer the land fund at credit to Waitangi Stream road to Long Point road. Application to transfer miscellaneous license, James Millar to William John Mullin, section 24, block 17, Town of Roxburgh, was approved. Robert Morgan, lessee of sections 21 aiid 22, Bamego Settlement, requested the Board to take into consideration the serious loss he had sustained with his.cows this season! eleven out.-of-a herd"of thirteen having-been affected with contagious , mammitis, and rendered completely useless . for milking pur-poses.--Referred to Ranger O’Neill for report; the ranger to confer with the stock inspector in. the matter. , Application for pastoral run, John Weir, run No. 2481, Patearoa, was approved. . Application to transfer land held under lease in perpetuity: G. R-. Mackenzie to James Mackenzie, section 6, block 4, Tautuku district.—Referred to ranger for report. James M’Murtrie, lessee of section 12a, EldersHe Settlement, wrote in regard to damage done his crop by hailstorm.—Ranger to report.
■ Tiie Board were requested to authorise the Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with the sum of £49 15s paid as valuation for improvements on section 19, black 5, Glenomaru district.—Receiver to pay to revenue cost of -re-entry £1 10s, and to L. J. and ’T. M. Pepperill £4B ss. The Taieri County Council applied to have the south-eastern corner of section la, Duncan Settlement, made a gravel reserve, and vested in the county.’—Ranger to report. Ranger M'Dougall wrote stating that W. B. Ewing declined to confine his bush-cutting to the area pointed out to him, and recommended that the license to cut be cancelled, as cutting where the licensee desired would seriously affect the picturesqueness of the locality.—Grant’ to Mr W. B. Ewing cancelled, the ranger having reported that the conditions of the license were not being complied with. _ . The Waitaki County Council wrote with reference to the removal of gravel from section Ba, Windsor Park Estate, held under lease in perpetuity by T. L. King.—County Council to he informed that when any land was required for gravel purposes the Board
should be first advised before arrangements were made with the lessee.
/ The Town Clerk, Lawrence, wrote requesting, that the portion of land between the drainage channel and creek, block 20, Tuapeka East district, north of section 7, be set aside for a manure and rubbish depot.—Referred . to* Mr M’Lean for report. . ' Mr J. M‘Lew appeared before tho Board and protected against being deprived ,x>i the license to occupy section 75, block 8, and section 27, . block 12, Moerkki district (Makaraeo Estate). Mr M‘Lew gave his reason for protesting.—Referred to the Government for - consideration. Ranger O’Neill was instructed to make a revaluation. of improvements on all tho un- £ elected sections in .the Pomahaka Downs Estate.
