The match Caris-brock D v .Hendley was ! begun on the Garisbrook Ground. Cansbrook, going in first, scored 116, Kahienbcrg VwtUn;; well for 44 .not out, while Gardner (15), .Sparrow (18). and Macdouaid (10) alio bat ad well. Torrance (six for 40) was the most smecess-ud bowler. In their first essay Hendiey have sy> far lost nine wickets ior 18 urns. Bridger started the tout by clean-bowling two hu-Umeu in his first over, and after that no on-; was able to make a stand. Knldenberg and Uridgir finishing up the day with the line av | ties of five for 8 and two for 9 respectively. The match Duncdin v. Tort Chalmers was commenced on the Caledonian Ground. Dmedin. winning the toss- elected to bar. and made a disastrous start, five wickets being down for 11: but, on VV. H. and George Skiteh becoming asvocinted a good stand was made, and the score was taken to 67 before a separation was effected. \V. H. Skit'-h being the first to go. Orange defeated Carisbrook by two wickets and 1 run. Crosbie. who was,in (.'rent form with the ball, clean-bowled ten of the Caris. brook players for 36" runs.
Roslyn met High School at the school gtound, and defeated them by 61 runs en the first innings.
FOURTH GRADE.
Anderson Isa\ r No. 2 defeated Privateers on the Asylum Ground by 8 runs.
The match Port Chalmers" \. Opoho resalted in a win for Port by 30 runs. Carisbrook F claimed by default the match against Russell No. 2. "High School defeated Grange on NorthGround by 20 rans. CANTERBURY v. OTAGO. The Canterbury selector ha.s chosen the following players to represent Canterbury in the match -against Otago at Hagley Park on December 25,*26, and'2B:—J." Bennett, a Callaway, C. W. Garrard. F. S. Prankish, J. D. Lawrence, S. Orchard, T. W. Reese, A. Kinvis, A. Sims, G. Weston, and W. C. H. Wigley.
