SPORTING INTELLIGENCE

For flower show splendid en» tries have been received, those for rosea constituting a record for a- number of years past. As the season has been a specially ftod one, the display of the " queen of owers" sihould prove unusually attractive. Tlte entries for baskets and bowls of roses being large, some charming effects will also be seen. A special feature of the table decorations at this show is the wedding breakfast table in white or cream, and for this four entries have been received Other brilliant summer flowers in the eight entries for collections of twenty-four varities should form another feature of the show, and j.atrons of th>3 show will also find a wealth of color in the brilliant pot pelargoniums and glojrinia-s.

PORT CHALMERS SAILING CLUB

Handicap matches took place on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large number of citizens. The weather was fine, with a very light breeze. In 20ft boats seven started.
