Captain Edwin reports:—Heavy gale from between N. and W. and S.W-; glass further fall; tides high; sea heavy on coast; rain, probably heavy. Queenstown reported to the Telegraph Department at 9 a.m. to-day : —Heavy rain all round last night, and still raining heavily. Rivers very high. The lake has risen 2dn during the night, and is now at the 4ft "10m level.

Cromwell reports at 9 a.m.:—-Weather showery; river risen now about 15ft above the normal.
