STOCK EXCHANGE NOTES. River height, 10ft; weather mild. There were no sales, and buyers and sellers in such stocks as elicited a quote did not show any disposition to come together. Aldingas eufbred a drop of 9d in the selling quote without attracting" a deal, and Alpine No. 2 at 6d icsw than Saturday’s quotation did not chat a, higher bid than 20/. There were buyers of Blackwater at 5/6, but the offer was not sufficiently tempting to the holders of tbs stock, who do not seem anxious to sell. Enterprises at 6d lower than Saturday did not tempt a buying offer, and an offer to buy First Chances at 5/elicited no selling qiote. Golden Beds were in demand at 6/3 ana under, but there were none on the market. The Hartley and Riley market advanced 6d on the part of buyers and 1/ on the part of sellers. Otlmr ‘mining stocks quoted were at about the same figure as previously, and the investment stocks- inquired for were Bank of New Zealand at 76/ (sellers 78/1 and M'Le-o-Ts Roan at 14/. Previous to the call-over the chairman intimated that the Auckland Exchange bad notified that they would close on the afternoon of the 25rd December and reopen on the sth January. ,
