SALE OF WORK.

The sale of work and bazaar in connection with. St. Martin’s Church was contained last evening. The incessant rain which fell daring the latter part of the day interfered considerably with the attendance, bnb notwithstanding, a good amount of business was got through. The young ladies in their chic caps and aprons were particularly assiduous in pushing their wares, and proved to be quite irresistible with elegant buttonholes and pretty articles of fancy design. The refreshment stall, provided all kinds of delicacies both eatable and drinkable, and needless to say, was well patronised. The stall being in capable hands, everyone was well served. Good work was done at the produce stall, which was loaded with all lands of marketable articles. .The various competitions proceeded with spirit, naildriving proving the most attractive feature of this portion of the entertainment. The ladies’ competition was productive of much interest, and some of the competitors proved themselves to be veritable adepts with the hammer. Guessing and shooting competi-tions-for valuable* articles wet© got off at
