MTDSUMMER HOLIDAYS.

TO THE EDITOR Sir,—l was very glad to see so many letters in your paper on Saturday against changing the summer holidays, and wish to add my protest also. If Mr Scott and his Committee think they are improving them by the change, they are greatly mistaken. Although we have had bad weather in the school hqlidays, it has generally been worse during the December part. This year the last in January was perfect weather, and, taking it all round, I think it will be fpund that January is often as fine as February. Have we not had big floods in February? Another objection to tfco change is that in February the days are decidedly shorter,, and the longer nights are v.r.t nearly so pleasant for camping or eveni)-;.; rambles. I-am sure the Committee would not try to carry thi9 change if they knew <••■ trouble and discontent it will.cause u& —I >.™ etc., . July 20. . __■
