The shaving saloon was of the most primitive kind, lacking the usual equipmeat of mirrors. The countryman's b-ard was a considerable length; but Billy applied soap, ran the back of .the razor over the "Btubble," and finished, up in the usual wav, sending out his customer "plazed as punciil wid the quickest and aisiest shave in his loife." At an hostelry opposite Billy Todd'i the man was boasting about his shave, but on and rushed put to "murder sum wan." Mistaking a confectioner wearing an apron tor the barber, the injured man pushed him through a plate-glass window, raying. " Oi'H her to pay it, but yell nawt shave the nkt bo aißy."
