The Timaru dredge is receiving her periodical overhaul in the graving dock. The Waikare sails from Wellington tomorrow for Dunedin direct. She is due at Port on Sunday afternoon. With 2,000 tons of coal, the Taieri leaves Westport to-night for Dunedin. The Hawea leaves the Biuff on Tuesday for Northern ports. The Te Anau proceeded to Port this afternoon, where she lays up. Her running is to be taken up by the Tarawera, n-hioh sails for East Coast ports on Sunlay. The Petone, from Greymouth, is expected to arrive at Port Chalmers to-mor-row forenoon with coal for transhipment to the Waimate. Cape Maria Van Diemen reports that the steamer Bahnain passed east at 12.15 p.m. ENTRANCE TO WELLINGTON HARBOR. WELLINGTON, May 22.—Surveys made by H.M.S. Penguin show that silt from the Hutt River has made great changes in the soundings at the entrance to the harbor at Wellington, and that dredging operations are imperative to remove the shoals.
