MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

At the Star of Freedom Lodge. 1.0CT., fortnightly session Bro. S. Sell (acting C.T.) presided. Correspondence was received from DL. notifying their next session ; also from All Nations Lodge inviting the lodge to their next meeting, which was accepted. Official visits were received from the Pioneer and Hope of Dunedin Lodges, who att-nded in large numbers. Bro. Saudilands. S.D.G.CT.. then imta'led the officers for the ensuing quarter, assisted by Sis- Cameron as I.M and Bro. Caddie as D.I.M. The following were in tailed!—Bro. Whale, C.T ; Sis. Warte V.T. ; Bro. Hitt, T. ; Sis. C. Wilkinson,' F.S. ; Bro. Shannon. C. ; Sis. Wafrnn, M. ; Sis. Smith. D.xVl.; Bro. Smyth, G. ; and Sis. M. Waite. S. The secretary's and assistant-secretary's installation was unn.void.ibly left over till next session. The C.T. appointed the different committees, and read to the members a suggested syllabus for the quarter. A recess was granted, a'ter which hannony was indulged in, the following contributing:— Sisters Mitchelhill, Watson, Howell, and Bros. Gray and Saudilands, recitations; and Sis. L. Wilkinson and Bros. M'Farlane, Breeze, Smith, Aitken, songs. The vote of thanks to the visitors .was responded to by Bro. Sandilands (Hope of Dunedin), Bro. M'Farlane (Pioneer), and a brother from All Nations.
