HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The monthly meeting of the above Trustees, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Messrs W. Wills (acting chairman), J. Green, J. N. Brown, A. E. Tapper, and J. A. Thomson. The House Committee reported that the amount of subsidy on bequests, donatioos, and contributions for last financial year amounted to £561 3s sd. The resignation of Nurse Bishop had been accepted. The Committee approved of Messrs Mason and Wales's sketch plan for extension of tho Nurses' Home and for isolation ward, and recommended that the plans be adopted. The Committee reported that the chairman had been authorised to make inquiries whetf in London as to X-ray appliances, and the chairman also proposed to visit Messrs H. W. Care and Co.'s electrical establishment in London. The latter firm had some time a?o submitted an offer to supply new apparatus, with spark coil, volt accumulators, and everything requisite, at a cost of £53 3s Bd.—The Acting Chairman, referring to this offer, mentioned that there had been additional improvements in connection with the X-rays, and it was thought that if the Trustees got a new apparatus they should get an up-to-date one.—The report was adopted. The Finance Committee reported the receipts for April amounted to £175 Bs. The Secretary of the Hospital Board wrote that the Trustees' claim for requirements for the year ending March 31, 1904 amounting to £6,000, had been approvedalso the application for £2,000 for the Nurses' Home had been agreed to and passed.—Received. Messrs Mark Sinclair and M. Fahey wrote thanking the hospital staff for kindness to patients. The outdoor patients' b'st showed a total of 146 males and 228 females (old cases) and 47 males and 75 females (new cases). The total cases for 1901 were 602, for 1902 449, and for this year 496.—Received
