FOOTBALL.

SCHOOL RUGBY. The High School B will be unable to play their matches for the 23rd and 30th inst. on account of school vacation. The High street v. Port Chalmers, played on the 16th inst., resulted in a draw, each side scoring 6 points. There will be no match for these schools next Saturday. THE NEW ZEALAND UNION. [Special to the Stab.] WELLINGTON, May 2L At the Lost meeting of the Managing Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union the question of appointing a fourth member of committee to pick the New Zealand and inter-island representative teams was held over pending the choice by the Otago Rugby Union of a sole selector to pick their representative combinations. As the Otago Union Managing Committee cannot agree on a selector the colonial Union Executive will cut the Gordian knot by electing a fourth member of their own Selection Committee at a meeting to-night. My impression is that Mr H. Harris, treasurer of the Otago Union, will be the favored one. The Colonial Executive will also come to a decision as to what uniform should bo worn by the New Zealand players on their Australian tour. Canterbury wished to meet Southland early in June, but the latter union reSolved, in view of bad weather likely prevailing then at Invercargill adversely affecting the attendance and consequent finances, to suggest a date in September after the return of the New Zealand team from Australia.
