A letter was received from Robert Smith in regard to the rent on his pastoral license No. 989, section la, block 10, Waipori disriitit.—lt was decided to inform Mr Smith that the inclusion of his name as a defaulter was an oversight. Ranger O'Neill forwarded valuation of tlu improvements on section 29, block 7, ar 4 section 72, block 4, Table Hill district. —Decided to reoffer them as a pastoral lease at a rental of £3 12s 6d, burdened with improvements amounting to £lB. A memo, from the Under-Secretary for Lands in regard to section 2, block 7, and section 3, block 8. Nenthom district, over which Charles Freeman has applied for leave to surrender his small-grazing run lease, was considered. —Decided to offer this small-grazing run at a rental of 5d per acre, the Minister to be informed accordingly. If Minister's approval be obtained, section to be burdened with improvements amounting to £856 17s. Ranger O'Neill reported on the application by S. Kenny for an area of Crown lands on the Henley-Berwick road between sections 9 and 43, block 6, Maungatua district.—Declined. The Board authorised the Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with the sum of £l3 15s, valuation for improvements on section 27, block 9, Warepa district, as follows:—Receiver to pay to revenue—refit (arrears), £l2 Is 8d; re-entry, £1 10s; to Mr Cameron, 3s 4d. A letter was received from W. M. Foster in regard to the fencing on the area at Blacks recently held under license by Joseph Miller.—Mr Foster to be allowed fourteen days to remove his fencing. A letter was received from John Eraser and other residents at Tautuku district requesting that section 21, block 8, Tautuku district, be cut up into small areas and opened for settlement.—Section to be subdivided for village homesteal purposes. A memorandum from Ranger M'Dougall with reference to license granted to Arthur Drake on July 3, 1901, to cut props over an area of tea acres in Kidd's Bush, Havvea, was received, and license cancelled. Ranger M'Dougall forwarded an application from J. B. Ewing for a saw-roill license over 60 acres adjoining section 23,870, beyond Pipson's Creek, Makarora; also application by J. B. Ewing for a saw-mill license over 100 acres on the west side of Makarora River, near the Young River.— Under the circumstances it was decided to grant the application; royalty to be paid as- suggested by Ranger M'Dougall, the ■jrant to be liable to cancellation failing monthly payments. The case of Harry Hill Messent, who has been called on to show cause why his l'-a.vj in perpetuity 1,158 over section 3, block 10, Poolburn district, should not be declared forfeited for his non-compliance with the residence condition was considered and the lease forfeited. The Board reconsidered their decision in regard to the tenure' under which sections 91, 92, block 1, sections 4, 5, block 8, sections 122, 123, 124,- block 2, and section 10, block 6, Leaning Rock district, were opened for application.— The resolution in this matter was rescinded, sections to be grouped as formerly, and to be offered as small-grazing • run instead of lease in perpetuity. ; Dalgety and Co. (on behalf of J. ' The following applications to transfer small-grazing run leases were granted: •Small-grazing run 407, run 2255, Caroline Lory to James Lory (Dalgety and Co., agents); small-grazing run 267, run 225f, George Turnbull to George Hardie, jun. I Cut ten and Hjorring, solicitors). Richard Miller's application for exemption from residence on section 16a, Windsor Park Estate, as he is residing on freehold land adjoining, was granted during Ihe pleasure of the Board. G. M. M'Elroy applied' for a license to occupy the closed road-line on the Dorth of section 46, block 10, Leaning Rock dis- • n'ct, and small area at the lower end of it.—Grazing license granted over the roadlino only; rent, 12s 6d per annum. A letter from Simon Wright in regard to the fencing on sections 1, 2, and 21, block 4, Town of Balclutha, was received, and request declined. The District Road Engineer forwarded a report on section 45, block 1, Warepa district, re consideration of Mrs J. M'Lean's application for the section.—The Board had no power to cany out the suggestion made by the road engineer. An application from tho Stock Department for section 27a, Janefield, was granted/
