The- retiring president of the Chamber of Commerce said fhat the Pacific Cable Board had rot been doing justice to itself. It had no local representative here, and the Postmaster-General had stated that it was a fact that the company were not adopting ordinary methods to attract business. This had been officially brought under the notice of the. Board, and he thought something eventually would be done in this direction.
