EDUCATION BOARD.

The monthly meeting" of the Education Board was held this afternoon, and attended by Messrs D. Borne fin the chair), J. Smi, R, Peattie, J. Mitchell, W- Nicolson, A. Marshall, and the Bev. P. B. Eraser. Tha Board passed a resolutipn of sympathy with Mr P, G. Pryde (secrotary) in his illness, and expressed the hope that be would soon be well again. A claim of £25 for half-cost of asphalting by the Kensington Committee was deferred for further particulars, The Anderson Bay Committee wrote pointing out the inadequacy of the grant for incidental expenses.—lt was decided to reply that if the additional vote by Parliament was available the Board would be glad to take into consideration the granting of additional funds to school committees. The High street School Committee wrote drawing attention to the oond'tion of the bead-master's house, and suggesting that a portion of the site be sold and a new residence was agreed to get a report from the architect on the mattter.
