TRUANCY AT MILTON.

The following parents were prosecuted yesterday at the Magistrate’s Court, Milton before Mr G. Crnickshank, S.M.. by the truant officer for the irregular attendance of their children at school Frank thomas (four informations), John Glen (Svej, William H Groves (two), Godwin Scudmore (two), Mrs Honora Fahey (three) They were each fined 5s in each case. It was r nnng tlle hearin g of these cases that there was one boy.(thirteen years eight months) who had passed Standard XL, another (thirteen years four months) who had passed Standard 1., another (thirteen years nine months) who had passed Standard ,f n ” an °ther (ten years nine months) who had passed no standard. The magistrate condemned the neglect and carelessness of the parents in strong terms, pointing out that they showed no consideration whatever to the Education Board, who provided free education, free travel on the railwav, and every facility possible for the education of their children.
