TEACHING DUTCH IN THE SCHOOLS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. * CAPFTOWN, May 17. (Received May 18, at 8.50 a.m.) Sir A. Lawloy, Lieutenant-Governor of the Transvaal, has rejected the* Dutch Reformed Church petition asking that the control of Government schools be transferred to elective school boards. The Synod are discussing means for establishing private schools, with a view to devoting more time to the teaching of Dutch.
