Mr Charles M'Artliur (C.) will move in the House of Commons that recent - developments in the fiscal and commercial policy of foreign countries, ousting British trade, demand the serious consideration of the Imperial; Government—m concert with colonial Governments where necessary—with a view to safeguarding the trade of the Empire. Mr J. F. Hope (C.) will move an amendment to omit the words " serious consideration " in Mr M'Arthur's amendment, and to insert in their place the words "retaliatory action." Mr Balfour announced that the Iri«h Land Bill would be introduced on the 25th inst.
