SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.
OTAGO AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. A Committee meeting of the above was held last evening. Mr W. L. Hooper presided, and the following affiliated clubs were represented:—D.A.A.C. (Mr J. Kingston). Dunedin Harriers (Messrs G. Morton and A. Cannon), St. Andrew Harriers (Mr T. Gordon), and Oamaru A.A.C. (Messrs W. Burk and H. Divers). It was decided that the New Zealand championship meeting should be held on the Carisbrook . Ground on the 7th March. Mr A. G. Melville was elected hon. auditor to the Association. Various sub-committees were appointed, to report at next meeting. The following were agreed upon as the championship events:—looyds Flat, 250vds Flat, 440 yds Flat, Half-mile Flat, One-mile Flat, Threemile Flat, One-mile Walk, Three-mile Walk, 120 yds Hurdles (ten flights, 3ft 6in), 440 yds Hurdles (ten flights, 3ft 6in), Long Jump. High Jump. Pole Jump, Putting 161b Weight (7ft circle), Throwing 161b Hammer (9ft circle). QUEEN'S DRIVE BOATING CLUB. Major "Taylor :iuve a facte of Ila quality in the Invitation Scratch Lap Race in qualifying for his heat. While watching some other cracks he allowed Cha'.mcvy to get ahead, but with a fine sprint managed to make a dead heat with Chnhners. Time, 38see. The final residied -. Taylor 1. Don Walker 2, Gudgeon 3. Leaving Gudgeon, the two champions were together 100 yds from home. Taylor failed to qualify m the Summer Wheel Race. At a meeting of the ;:bovo Committee last evening Mr George Down's resignation as handicappsr owina to ill-health and failing eyesight was accepted with recrei. It was decided to appoint Mr Vv. lirii-J;-ni;;n us handicapper fur the autumn meeting. It was resolved to hold ihe inr-ciii-on February 26 and March 4.
