STOCK EXCHANGE NOTES. The river is at the 7ft 7m mark. Business was resumed at the Stock Exchange this morning, Mr G. L. Stewart, the newly-elected chairman, presiding for the first time. The market, as wasto be expected, opened very quiet. No changes of any note have taken place consequent on the large majontyof dredges having dosed down simultaneously with the Stock Exchange, and as they arc only Tcsmninff work again today business my be expected to remain quiet for a time. The Molynenx shows no change, being precisely the same height to-day as on December 24. As regards quotations, there was moderate demand up to a certain point, but in no case aid buyers and sellers come within very close distance of one another, and 1 no sales resulted.
