ANGLING ON THE WAIAU.

Despite the unfavorable weather, a considerable number of the angling fraternity journeyed to the Waiau mouth on Tiiesday and Wednesday. There, however,' as in other parte, the fish were not biting freely, and more than one angler got little for his day's work. Still, what fith wore caught were in good condition for the time of the year, and the number «aught was considerably in advance of anything from other parts of Southland. The "two biggest catches were made by Messrs P. H. Wilson and A. M'Parlane, who acordingly secured the prizes in the competition. Mr F. H. Wilson's catch consisted of twelve spotted beauties. Mr A. M'Farlane caught seven, one a ten pounder, the aggregate being 26ilb. The total weight of fish caught on Wednesday and Thursday was lOOJlb.— 'Orepuki Advocate.'
