There was fine weather for the Eight Hours Day ■ celebrations. Fifty-one trades unions participated in'the procession.

The fire in Block 12 is uuder control. The workings are new free of fumes. Work was resumed this morning. SYDNEY, October 6.

Great crowds witnessed the procession which paraded the principal streets to the Agricultural Ground, where sports were held. Some of the banners and emblematical designs; were most effective.
