MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The fortnightly meeting, of the Loyal Valley Lodge, M.U., was held in the North Dunedin DiilL Hall on Monday evening, N.G. Bro. R.J. : Stewart presiding. After business the lodge went into harmony, the following contributing:—P.G.s P. H. Youngi D. K. Smith, G. Tilbury, inn., P. Millier, N.G. R. J. Stewart, P.G. Broadfoot, V.G. Hopcraft, and E.S. Bro. Tobias (of the Hand and Heart Lodgel. P.G. Bro. M'Colluck (of Loyal Dmiback Lodge) and Bro. Houghton (of Loyal Phillipston Lodge) responded to the second toast of the evening. Receipts, £B4 Os 2d. The annual reunion of the Ancient Order of Foresters was celebrated in die Choral Hall, Port Chalmers, on Wednesday, and proved most successful, some 300 being present. D.O.R. Bro. : W. Black presided; and opened the concert with a short address. A programme of songs, etc, was gone through, the performers being Messrs S. Jarvis (song), T.*Bauchop (cornet solo). W. Duff (song, encored), D. Monro (Highland fling), Miss BlaMe (song), Mrs Morrison (song), Mr Clark (mandoline selection), Mr G. CuEing (song), Mr D. Munro (sailor's hornpipe). Miss Wilson and Bro. Hnnmel acted as accompanists. ,After the concert the hall was cleared for dancing. Visits were received from the various courts. The D.C.R. was supported by Bros. Woodland, Macfie, Clark, and Hope.
