PRESENTATIONS.
This afternoon Mr Massey, on behalf of the Opposition, expressed high appreciation of the good work done by Messrs Pirani' and Hutcheson since they entered Pariiament. Both members had earned a colonial reputation,' and probably in political circles no names were better known. They had proved themselves keen, earnest, able politicians, and straightforward, honest men, and fearless and outspoken in criticism whenever it was required. In conclusion Mr Massey said no members would be more missed than Messrs Pirani and Hutcheson. The former was presented with a gold watch, and the latter wit*, a dessert and fish service. Both gentlemen when replying indicated a remote possibility of their return to political life. Sir W. Russell, for the party, presented Mr James Allen>, on behalf of his daughter (who is about to marry Mr Montgomery, ex-member for Ellesmere), with a solid silver flower vase.
