A deputation of carpenters and joiners waited on, the Acting-Premier to; request that the Government should, appoint an inspector to see that awards of . the Arbitration Court were faithfully carried' out, and prosecute in cases of breaches. The onus of seeing that the laws were carried out should, the deputation ruged, rest with the State, and not with the . trades unions. Sir Jp 6. Ward promised that if tbe deputation would show that breaches were committed or existed, as alleged, an; inspector would be appointed, and the deputation promised tosupply the information. '
