DR TORREY'S ARGUMENTS.
TO TH* SDITOB. Sir,—Br Torrey. ui one of his sermons, says that if Jesus of Nazareth were not toe Christ He was either an impostor or a hopeless luna.tic How Dr Torrey is forced to this conclusion I, ..cannot imagine. We know that every Jewess hopes her son may bo the Messiah, especially a Jewess of the lineage of David. Take •> bov who grows' to manhood with his ‘motlier whispering such- a hope a boy, too, who feels within himself the genius’ to lead his felloes and to teach them atoetter moral iaw, and this at a time the Messiah is confident ly expected-—and what mote natural than that, without conceit or presumption, the young man should feel that he himself is toe promised leader come at last?—l am, etc.. , - Truth-sjsekeb.
