CONCERT.

Mr B. A. De Lautours second annual concert was given last evning in the Choral Hall before a large audience. The chief characteristics of the programme was the number of names of young performers who were making their first appearance before a Dunedin audience. The latter were both sympathetic and appreciative, and they received each contribution with marked approval. A string band of twenty performers opened the programme with a Ejection arranged by Mr B. A. De Lautour entitled ‘ Rippling waves waltz,’ and later on in the evening they played a grand march, ‘ Ivanhoe,’ and a medley of operatic airs. The vocalists during the evening were Miss Fietcher, ‘ La Serenata ’ (Braga); Miss Luke, ‘ Granny’s rings ’; Miss Cooke, ‘ Tit for tat ’; Mr J. Gilbert, ‘ The deathless army ’ and ‘ Will-o’-the-wLsp ’; while Mr Eadie gave a couple of humorous recitations. The instrumentalists were Mr Masterton, ‘ Mocking bird ’; Mr Fulton, ‘ Song that reached my heart ’; Masters M'Master and Snter, a duet selected from the * Bohemian Girl,’ and a septet compose! of Mr De Lantouris pupils, whose playing
