CHURCH CONCERT.

A concert was given last evening in She King street Congregation Clmrch in order to raise funds to provide new music for the choir. The programme presented was an excellent one. and encores were numerous. Miss Daisy Moore opened with & violin solo, ‘Fantasia on operatic airs,’ followed by Miss A. J, Alexander with a pianoforte solo, SchnlhofTs ‘ Chanson a Bcire.’ Miss Jean Hall was heard to advantage in ‘The one altogether lovely.’ and for an encore gave ‘The better land-’ A humorous recitation by Miss Jessie AHa^ ‘ Pittin’ in the Cries,’ provoked much merriment. Two solos each were contributed by Mr S. Abrim and Mr James Jago. The former’s numbers were ‘ Who shall be king?’ and ‘ ( Queen, of the earth,’ while Mr sang ‘The soul’s awakening’ and ‘Pray for me.’ Other solos were ‘Queen of angels,’ by Mr Lamb, and ‘ Maid of Athens," by Mr S. M'Donald. A recitation, ‘Maud Muller,’ by Mr S. S. Harlock, and a cornet soloj ‘ The lost chord,’ by Mr J. Pater-
