LaU letters, 10.45; also on the mail van np to 11 a.m. Books and newspapers, 10 a.m. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. FRIDAY, JULY 11. For Lyttelton and Christchurch.—Per Tarawera, at 1.30 p.m. Late letters, Port train, 2AO p.m. SAN FRANCISCO MATT. SERVICE. TUESDAyT JULY 15. For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich Islands, Japan, Philippine Islands, United States of America, Canada, South America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a.m. Money orders at 4 p.m., registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on Monday, 14fch. Book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. The above mail will close at the branch Post Offices. North Dunedin and South Dunedin, Caversham, and Eoslyn, for money orders and, registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 14th; letters at 9.30 a.m. cn the 15th; and newspapers at midnight on the 14th. At the Port Chalmers office at 8.45 a.m. on the 15th, money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 14th. The above mail will be due in London on the 16th August. Parcels for the United States of America close at 9.30 ajn. on the 12th. SPECIAL NOTICE. In future the outward San Franciscomail will close at Dunedin on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, as hitherto. NOTE. The postage on letters for Australia has been reduced to one penny for each halfounce or fraction thereof. Newspapers for tim Australian States (except Queensland, which is jd for every 2oz), one penny each. The public are reminded that the postage on newspapers for the United Kingdom, Queensland, and foreign countries is Id for the first 4oz, and for each additional 2oz; and unless newspapers are fully prepaid the department cannot guarantee to forward them by the quickest routes. Mails for Norfolk and Solomon Islands, per Southern Cross, will dose at Auckland on the Uth, at 11 a.m. Mafia for Australian States, Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc., will close at Wellington on the 12th, at 11 a.m. Mails for Fiji, Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, dose at Auckland on the 16th, at 11 a.m., per Moora, to connect with the Vancouver steamer at Fiji. Correspondence, specially addressed, will close at this office on the 12th, at 10 a.in. Mail* for Rarotonga, Tahiti, and Penrfarn Islands close at Auckland on the 17th, at 4 p.m. E.
