(Received July 4, at 10.35 a.m.) At the annual meeting of the Pastoralists' Union the president, in his address, said that the pastoral industry accounts for a>>out two-thirds of tho exports of New South Wales, and a still larger proportion of Queensland's the meaning of which facts must be forced on the attention of the averape citiz»n within the next year or two in a way that will make a lasting, if not an agreeabie, impression. So far the ruinous expenditure v.h)ch had been forced on the pastoralists in their effort to keep a remn; r.t of their stock alive had veiled tile d'saster, but it cannot last much longer. Disaster commencing with ths pastoral hj dustry would r.ffcot every industry in Aus tralia, and tire annual wealth production of -■•ew South Wales would probably be reduced 30 per cent, for the next few years.
