Urder the old Act the evidence of the rabbit inspector was sufficient to gain a conviction for failure to keep down rabbits, but the amending Act of last session provides that witness could be called for defence, and judgment given according to the weight of evidence. William Higgins ai.d James Palmer were committed for trial to-day on a charge of breaking and entering at Hastings.
