EXCITING SCENE AT WIRTH'S CIRCUS.
AUCKLAND, June 20
An exciting scene occurred at Worth's circus last night during the act when M. Hougol has two tigers harnessed to a chariot, which they puli round the mg. One tiger refused duty, and struggled to get out of the harness. It seem,-, j«c . moment as if the tiger would have the best of it. Some of the audience made for the door, while the majority rose from their seats in readiness to escape. The trainer realised that his power over the beasts was at stake, and he pulled the tiger to its feet, adjusted the harness, and completed the act.
