UNEMPLOYED IN DUNEDIN. M" A. R. Barclay, M.H.R., the other day wired the Hon. W. Hall-Jones, Minister of Public Works, regretting tlftt there wera about 120 men out of work in Dunedin. Most of them, he said, were married men, and there were some urgent cases among the number. He suggested that orders should be given to put some of the men on the Otago Central railway line. The Minister replied as follows:—I regret to hear there are any unemployed in Ihinedin. I am requesting Labor Department to report upon the matter. Will then see what can be done.” The Labor Department reported by wire to-day, and it is understood that a» a result some of the men will be put on the works.
