Hx-inspector Pardy, who has just severed his connection with the police force after forty years' service, left Dunedin with Miss Partly for New Plymouth by tho Upolu this afternoon.

Among the passengers by the Sonoma, which left Auckland for San Francisco on Saturday, were the Hon. F. Dillingham, United States Consul for New Zealand; Mr George Duimct, New Zealand agent of the Oceanic Company; Mr J. C. Hanna,, inspector of the New Zealand Insurance Company ; and Dr Grattan Guinness, whose lecturing tour in the colony has just concluded.
