'THE MARTYR OF FOTHERINGAY."
On February B—the anniversary of the martyrdom of Queen Mary Stuart at Folheringay Castle—Mr Theodore Napier visited that site of painful historic interest, and placed there a wreath he had carried with him from Edinburgh It consisted of a cross, four feet in height, covered with ie<( immortelles, and having on its foot the monogram of Queen Mary, surmounted with a- Scots crown. Attached to it -was a white silk pash with black border, and the following inscription : " Sacred to the immortal memory of Mary, Queen of Scot*, de jure heredituiio. Queen of England and Ireland, and Dowager Queen of France, who, after eighteen years' confinement in English prisons, was on this spot—for loyalty to her faith and Royal, prerogatives--beheaded by special warrant of Queen Elizabeth, on the Bth Februar-- 1587.
